1. Any of various marine mollusks of the class Cephalopoda, having long tentacles around the mouth, a large head, a pair of large eyes, and a sharp beak. Cephalopods have the most highly developed nervous system of all invertebrates. Many cephalopods squirt a cloud of dark inky liquid to confuse predators. Cephalopods include the octopus, squid, cuttlefish, and nautilus, and the extinct ammonites, belemnites, and other nautiloids.

Jason is a web professional and podcaster from Durham, NC. He is the producer and host of Random Signal, a podcast about geek culture and quirky independent music. Jason has also been the cohost of the Geek Fu Morning Show (with Mur Lafferty) and was a voice cast member of the podcast novel Metamor City: Making The Cut and the zombie audio drama The Takeover.
Jason has been a cepalopod enthusiast for most of his life, a fact that he hopes our eventual squid overlords will take into account before they begin the Great Purge.
